Journey to Missouri
We did it. We made it to Missouri. An hour drive to the airport, 2.5 hour flight, 3.5 hour drive to Springfield... annnnnnnnnnd we're spent. It was so wonderful to see Grameta and all the rest of the Midwest Family. The boys had a great time playing with cousins while experiencing *real* fall weather!
Dustin and family came up to visit! We decided to take the kids to a park and let them run around
That looks like fun... NOT
LEAVES! GRASS! LEAVES ON THE GRASS!!
Nature walk with Caleb & Patty and the chitlins
His walking stick
Not one to be outdone... a bigger walking stick
Cutie!
Man-Talk
The Cousins
Playing catch
E + E = BFF
Doesn't this look comfy?
(I absolutely ADORE this picture of Caleb and Eamon!)
Jack swinging with Auntie Em
Looks comfy and natural...
This one... not so much with the "natural" or "comfy"
Performance art
She's a very active Auntie
Nature exploring (I think this was staged)
Our awesome hotel. Jack splashing Emily
Morning pool time
Warming up by the hot tub... that pool was cold!
Not wanting to touch the bubbles in the hot tub, but he was okay with the super hot water
At Grameta's house painting her a pumpkin for her porch
Jack picked the colors: pink and lime green
Deep thoughts...
Playing football with Cousin Jayden
And now for the family portraits
Eamon was a bit cranky during these
Grameta telling Jack to straighten up!
Not only is Jack making faces (no idea where he got that from), but he also has a rock in his mouth.
And finally onto the last few minutes in Missouri before we board the plane back to Florida
Hello, Sunshine
The Arch! Jack is that yellow dot at the top. He's yelling, "I WIN!"
Love my boys
HELLO Christmas card!
E is ready to jump... down hundreds of steps. Oy.
Beautiful day.
Thank you, Missouri! We had fun. Also, just because I don't have pictures of the following people doesn't mean we don't love you immensely: Mike & Karen, Hayle, Randy, Alayna, Tori, Lauren & Kelly, and JB! You rock for putting up with our two wild and crazy guys!

Happy 2nd Birthday Eamon!
And a very special Happy Birthday to Grandpa Brady, too!
2 years old. Can you believe it?! Here is the birthday present bonanza:
2 years old. Can you believe it?! Here is the birthday present bonanza:
One of his favorites - farm animals! This was a huge hit.
Getting excited
"Mommy!! THIS!"
Playing with Uncle Chris
The present that Jack picked out. A new motorcycle.
Showing off Aunt Shug's gift - new eating set from his favorite book The Very Hungry Caterpillar
holding up the cups so we all can see
Jack loves the barn, too. Eamon likes to stash snacks in the silo so he can find them the next day.
Notice how Jack has a flashlight tucked into his pants? He's ready to work.
Playing with the flannel/felt board that I made him.
Kicking his feet and pouting a bit because I wouldn't let him touch the fire.
He learned how to blow out candles from a Curious George book.
I made beet cupcakes but after tasting them while still warm I promptly decided they were disgusting. Actually, the next day after being completely cooled, they were pretty good. It's a riff on Red Velvet cupcakes. Mimi saved my butt and picked out some regular cupcakes from the store for me.
showing off his cupcake.
Who me?
Then to cap the weekend, we went to PlayPlus where they were having a Pirate Party demonstration that we were invited. too. Of course, party animal E-dog fell asleep on the way there and no amount of shaking, kids screaming, or softly whispering the word "cake" into his ear would wake him up.
Jack immediately went to work by putting on his standard costume: a princess dress and shoes. Here he is seeing the pirate for the first time... and hiding from him.
"Hi, Pirate!"
Still not waking up......
Jack saw plates and balloons... he put two and two together: CAKE
The pirate made him a pink sword as a compromise. Jack really wanted the flower instead of the sword, but the pirate just couldn't bring himself to do it. Oh well, the stabbing and slicing motions were quickly discovered and flaunted all over the room.
"arrgghh!"
ANNNND ........ he's up. CAKE!
Smacking Daddy with his sword.
Pirate noises
And then some playing in the puddles before bath and night-night time.
Happy Birthday Sweet Boy! WE LOVE YOU
