Jack's Big (False) Announcement

Jack:  "Mommy, you have a baby in your tummy."

Me: "No, I don't. You have me confused with Ms. Bre and Ms. Mindy."

Jack: "NO, Mommy.  YOU have a baby in your tummy!"

Me: "You and Eamon are my babies and you are out of my tummy now."

Jack: [Pauses to ponder this gem of an idea] "Mommy, *I* have a baby in my tummy!"

Me:  "Only Mommies have babies in their tummies.  You're not a mommy, you're a little boy."

Jack:  "See, Mommy? [sticks out his tummy and points to it] See? My belly is soooooo big. There's a baby in there!"

Pumpkin Patch

The Gang.  This is as good as you're gonna get with 8 kids ranging in ages from 11 months to 2.5 years!

He had fun climbing and crawling over the pumpkins like it was Double Dare

Eamon refused to let go of my keys.

I had a little scuffle with a professional photographer while taking the first photo of the gang.  We were waiting and waiting for a chance to sit the kids down and take a picture near the hay and barn.  30 minutes later, we're still waiting.  The photographer is taking pictures of like 10 kids individually!  Finally, they stepped away for a brief second and I just threw the boys on the hay.  The photographers said, "Excuse me, we're in the middle of a shoot here."  I said, "This is a public patch. We've been waiting patiently and now it's our turn."   LOL  Firm and assertive!  I mean, seriously, make your own patch scene or rent the place out for an hour.  You can't bogart the pumpkin patch, dude.

E didn't want to sit still

My friend Leigh Ann of Roots and Wings made their matching shirts out of the super cute Ooga Booga fabric that I just love.  Check her out!  She makes all sorts of cool things.  She made Jack's red wolf costume, too.  Pictures soon to come!!

Our Savior Carnival

Time for the Our Savior Carnival!!  Last year Eamon was only a month old and spent the day in my Moby wrap.  Plus it was cold!  This year perfect weather and two boys that had fun on the rides.

First ride - TRUCKS!  of course

Bounce house.

I know he doesn't look like it, but he loves the bounce house.  And he can throw down with some big kids, too.

Why so serious, Matt??  He's probably counting, $1 ticket, 4 tickets/each = $8 carousel ride?!?!

First time eating funnel cake, Mommy's favorite

Yay!  Fried foods

Eamon decided that the ground was a good place to take a rest.

Fishing

The good fish are over there!

Resting after the carnival with his red penguin "Hay-zeus" that Jack won for fishing.  Hayzeus went on a nature walk with us today.

Best Birthday Party ever!

A couple of weekends ago we went to a dinosaur themed birthday party.  It was so much fun with lots of different activities for the kids.  Mostly I was chasing a (as good as he can do it) running toddler and an older toddler that wanted to swim in the lake with the ducks.  Then he stalked the cake for an hour or so and kept taking swipes of the frosting with his fingers.  Oy vay.

Going to see the "rain forest"

In this wood shavings pile the kids were searching for dinosaur bones.  Like everything else he sees, Eamon wanted to eat it.

Digging for bones

Jack found the special dinosaur bones!  He got a prehistoric shark's tooth as a prize.  Fins UP!

Now we're looking for dinosaur eggs.

This is serious business.
Got a lot of eggs in there

This series of pictures is so cute!

Probably one of the last beach days of this year....

All the recent storms in the Atlantic has really eroded our beach.  The waves are super high and the rip tides are wicked which leads to a dangerous situation with daring toddlers.  This day was windy, Eamon kept eating trash and trying to fling himself into the ocean.  We're in that lovely phase where going to beach is nothing but work.  I'm actually glad it's coming up on winter here so we won't be going to the beach very much except for the occasional evening stroll.

Jack-isms

My little big boy is sick today.  He had a fever and didn't want to do ANYTHING.  I spoon-fed him his meals and he spent the day on Daddy's chair watching Little Bear.

Poor sick baby.  I got him that little bear he's holding (from the thrift store for .50!) thinking that it would be his Little Bear.  Instead, he named it Fisherman Bear, which is actually Little Bear's little bear.  How cute is that?

Usually, he's a happy boy!  Isn't that necklace adorable?  It's an amber teething necklace that I originally bought for Eamon.   But when Jack saw it coming out of the package he said, "Ohh bootiful necklace for Jack. Mommy have necklace, Jack have necklace!"  How could I say no to that?  So I ordered another one for Eamon... which is what I should've done in the first place.  I think the necklace makes him look so much older.

One of his favorite places to be... for about 2 minutes.  Mommy's back in another new carrier.  This one is a Maya Tie.  Loves it (as a future sister in law would say).  VERY lightweight, breezy, and still quite supportive.

Jack has been having some wicked dreams lately.  The other day he told me that goblins - which are actually gnomes from the Little Bear show, only they call them goblins for some reason - took him out of his bed and put him in the toy box and closed the lid.  Yesterday he woke up crying and quite scared telling me there were crabs in his bed.  Living this close to the beach, I actually took him seriously for a second.  And then I realized he's 2.  Tonight while going to bed Matt and Jack played "hunt for crabs and eat them."  He was up for a while.
