Cinnamon Park

This park is now one of our favorites.  Not only does it have a huge oak tree that produces tons of acorns, it has a merry go round.  Jack loves to ride on it, push it around and then jump on while it's still moving.  He's such a big boy now.

My initial plan was to ride my bike to the park since it's relatively close.  I got halfway down the street, pedaling against the wind and promptly turned right around.  Both boys together weigh over 60 lbs plus the carrier PLUS a crappy bike = driving to the park

He loves apples.

The first thing done at any park we go to is test out the swings

Spinning on the merry go round

Playing with acorns

A favorite game of Jack's is to try to throw the acorns over the fence.  Such simple pleasures

He's a pro at climbing now

This one is just a few inches too far away from the platform to complete the task by himself... which is EXTREMELY necessary these days

Mommy getting all artsy

My favorite.   I think I'm going to have this one framed.

Jack pushing Uncle Steven on the merry go round.

Not having fun anymore!

Eamon can climb up this, too, only you have to catch him about 7 times before he falls to his death.  I have about 2,078 heart attacks every time he climbs up.

15 months old and already cooler than his Mommy

Eamon 15 months

Eamon had his 15 month well check today.  He did great... mostly because he's pretty much well all the time.  We had some surprising news... since his 12 month visit he's only gained 2 pounds, but he's grown almost 4 inches taller!  He is now completely flip-flopped on his percentiles.  He is over the 97th% in height - again, meaning that he's taller than 97% of other 15 month olds - and he's ~60th% in weight.  My little chunky monkey is now a jolly green giant.

Here's a little picture journey of chub through his milestones:

You can't see it, but believe me.  He's chubby

 0 months
10 lbs and 1 oz.  Don't forget that ounce.

3 months (I couldn't find any good chub pictures.  This was in the middle of winter and he was pretty much always bundled up)

6 months

9 months - peak of chubby-hood

12 months

15 months -  a toddler!

First beach stroll of 2011

The weather has been teasing us lately.  One day it's a balmy 75 and feels warmer in the sun... the next day has a high in the mid-50s.  We jumped on the chance to take our first stroll to the beach on this particularly beautiful day.  Jack says, "It's so nice to be at the beach, Mommy."

That's my new wrap... a Girasol Jungle .  I really love the subdued rainbow colors of this beauty. More on this in a future post...

Oh, how I missed you Beach!

Jack just giggled and ran in circles for the first few minutes we were there.  He loves the beach beyond words.

Pretty big waves

Rolling his fire truck down the handrail

Here he is rolling down the beach.  I'm not kidding you when I say he LOVES the beach.

My brother Steve is now staying with us.  He's our "manny" or a male nanny.  Seriously, he's the baby whisperer and both the boys and I really love his company.  Matt pretends to complain but his wife is happy and so are his children so he really can't say too much about it.  Also, he's amazing at skipping rocks.  Even better than Poppy and that's pretty darn good.

We made it all the way down the beach with Eamon in the wrap and then he was ready to run

Pure joy...  isn't this how dog's show their happiness, too?

This is adorable.. Eamon is throwing shells into the water like his Uncle.

We just took his pants off because (of course) they got wet and he's a little cold.  Or as Jack would say, "It's a witty bit chiwwy, Mommy."

Christmas 2010 - Indianapolis, IN

On to the third leg of our trip to Indy to spend time with the Lanciottis and Uncle Peter.  This was when things got really hairy.  Eamon was on antibiotics for almost a week by now and was actually feeling worse.  Jack got a lot sicker, too.  Thank goodness Aunt Gail and King Jim were such loving hosts...

Second stop at a clinic, this time Jack comes along.

Look at how sick he looks.  =(

But nothing like a lollipop to make you feel better

Playing legos with Christopher

The whole family is in on the building

Hmmm..what ornament should I try to rip off the tree?

Playing with the Brio trains at his cousins house reignited his love for trains.

He went to bed, woke up, tried to party, couldn't hang, passed out

3 guys reading the newspaper

Watching Dora while Mimi tries to squeeze in a little snuggle time

Look at that poor baby's face!
I don't mean for it to be all bad...  Jack really loved his cousins.  After we left Indiana, Jack kept saying that he wanted to go back and play with his cousins.  "I miss my cousins, I wanna play with my cousins."  Thanks for showing us a good time during a  bad time.  Love ya!

Christmas 2010 - In South Carolina

A new and interesting way to go down the steps

Waiting for the tractor to start

Outside in the front yard - it was freezing!

What Jack had been waiting for since last summer

E-dog with Uncle Mikey

He looks like a little garden gnome

I was a little slow on the uptake so this is everyone's back - including Eamon - waving to me on the tractor

Eamon started getting really sick about this time.  I think we took him to the doctor later on this afternoon and turned out he had 2 ear infections, the first ones in his whole little life.  He was so miserable.  He had a stuffy nose and a cough, too.  He would cough so much and so hard that he would vomit.  My poor poor baby.  I felt miserable knowing that he felt miserable.  Little did I know what the future had in store......

Testing out this new invention called "mittens"

On an acorn hunt

We're embracing the South Carolina lifestyle... children and dogs riding the back of old pickup trucks.

Play on a neighbors playhouse

Weee!

My fall outdoor photo-shoot

Playing with something he's not supposed to

See this acorn in my hand....?

...I'm gonna eat it.

Squishy faces

Contemplating the life cycle of the oak

The woods are so pretty

Greeting our guests - Lindsey and Ms. Vicki

Just hanging out on the floor in the kitchen.

Time to make cookies with Mimi... he LOVES baking.

How to make cookies according to Jack:  First you roll out the dough

Next:  sprinkle generously with sprinkles mostly in one spot.  Headlamp necessary.

Finally, inspect the cookies closely with the headlamp and scream until you eat more cookies than all the food you ate all day.  Done!

Laughing at his brother... or the dogs.  Same thing.
