Countdown to Baby
Hey Everyone. Since we're getting pretty close to D-Day I thought I'd post an update before I start getting 10,000 phone calls a day =)
I'm 36.5 weeks and will be 37 weeks on Saturday - full term! That means if I go into labor from here on out they won't stop me. Thank goodness for that.
On Tuesday we had a false baby alarm. I woke up with flu like symptoms which can also indicate the start of labor. I started having contractions about 20 minutes apart. My mom came up to watch Jack for us. We went to the doctor .. and lo and behold... nothing. Nada. It was a stomach bug just for the pure joy of it. Let me tell you, having a stomach bug at 9 months pregnant has got to be one of the worst experiences I've ever been through. So my mom stayed the night just to make sure nothing did happen. I woke up the next morning with the bug gone and just a few straggling contractions.
My mom decided to take Jack with her to her house for a few days to let me rest. Jack has been gone for a little more than 24 hours and is doing just fine without Mama and Dada. He fell asleep on Nanny's lap (what?!? he's NEVER done that for us) while she was at the hair dressers and is watching Thomas the Train at her house so all is well with the world. Matt and I went out to dinner last night and it was strange... we really haven't been out to eat for dinner in months and months, let alone by ourselves. We miss him, but we're both really glad that he's having a good time with other family members.
Also on Tuesday the doctor wanted to do an ultrasound to see if the baby was head down. Turns out that he was indeed head down in the birthing position and the doctor also suspects that this baby is going to be bigger than Mr. Jack. For those of you that didn't memorize my child's birth weight, he was 7 lbs 9 oz at 42 weeks (2 weeks past due) which is a pretty average size baby. The doctor thinks this new little guy might be close to that weight already at almost 37 weeks! But we'll see... there is a huge weight variability in that it might be +/- 2 lbs in either direction. So I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch.
Everything else in our lives is going great. The house is unpacked and we've settled in quite nicely. It already feels like we've been here for a long time. Matt is SUPER busy at work which is always a good thing. Jack has his 18 month appointment next week and I can't believe how much of a big boy he is!
That's all for now. I'm hoping our next update will be a baby update!!!!!!!
Love to all <3
