Christmas Journey

Things have settled back down here in Florida so I've got time to post pictures from our 2009 Christmas Journey. We traveled a total of 2,500 miles, visited 4 family homes, and spent a whopping 40 hours in the car. Whew! Good thing Christmas is just once a year. The boys were great in the car, surprisingly. Jack rode in Poppy's car to and fro Indiana with May-Mi (as he now calls her) in the back seat with him and, of course, Thomas on dvd. Eamon slept most of the way and really didn't complain much at all. A fantastic trip for a 2 year old and a 3 month old. I didn't get as many pictures as I would've liked, but you'll get the idea.

First we drove to South Carolina in order to break up the drive to Indiana a bit. We stayed there for a few days and had a little mini-Christmas with Poppy and May-Mi.

Here's Poppy reading 'Twas the Night Before Christmas.

Flash-forward to Christmas Eve in South Bend, IN with Grammie and Grandpa Brady. This is at church. Mass was a 5pm, aka The Death Hour. Jack was unable to sit for even a few seconds, not to mention the fact that "inside voice" is still beyond him. He quieted down for a few minutes eating animal crackers, but then it was just too much. I took him out to go run around in the hallway. While walking out, everyone got very quiet.... and Jack yells to everyone "BYE GUYS!" If I wasn't so embarrassed it would've been so funny.

Christmas Day.

The Raines, minus Peter

Take a look at this pic cause it's the only one you're going to see of me in the snow. Jack loved it. We made Matt pull both of us on the sled.

Cold!

Thanks, Grammie! We had a great time.

The we visited Matt's Aunt Jeanne in Fort Wayne, IN. Unfortunately, we don't have any pictures of that visit, but she has an amazing house right next to a lake. It was snowing like crazy and Matt got stuck in the snow. Phil helped us out. Rachel got to play with Jack for a little bit... he was a little crazy that day. I think the snow got to him. Thanks for having us!

Off to Indy...

"Now, Eamon, this is called a dork book. Filled with aliens and planets and all that dork stuff."

Back to South Carolina for the final leg of the tour.....

He rolled over for the first time a few minutes after this pic was taken.
